I bet u've heard Utada Hikaru's First Love. This is quite an old song (more than 10 years ago!). At that time, i didnt really like this song. The word "first love" just didnt (and doesnt :p) mean anything to me.
However.. now, ten years later, while trying to learn some of japanese word, i suddenly like this song.. Perhaps because im a woman, i prefer ken hirai's voice than utada hikaru :9 (How about you? Which one do u like?)
I realize that if you try to learn by your heart, some simple words can mean a lot.
and I agree:

/Now it's still a sad song until I can sing a new song/

i think everybody guess it from his gesture. hahaha.. but yeah, for me, his polkadot shirt is also not a good choice. just close ur eyes and listen to his voice :)
